The Build Up Skills initiative started in Macedonia, FYR few years before and defines the path that needs to be followed in the next seven years for the upgrade of skills and qualifications of the building workers in the practical application of EE and RES measures as the national energy targets for 2020 could be met. These documents can be fined on the project web site http://buildupskills.mk/index.php
The project involves three categories of partners: public authorities, high education institutions and training providers and it is supported by 28 members for National Qualification Platform. The project aims at introducing qualification and 5 different training schemes to build up the skills of the different (prioritized) workers’ occupations in the building sector concerning to building envelope, glassing, roofing, energy infrastructure and HVAC systems. These 5 training programmes will ensure involvement of all 6 occupations identified as prioritized in the national Roadmap.
Specific objectives are:
1) Development the "large scale" training schemes by upgrading national education system with voluntary qualification schemes and recognition of skills of the 1.000 building sector's workers, obtained through previous experience and/or through corresponding training activities in non-formal education (recognition of previous learning-RPL)
2) Capacity building of trainers and training providers to implement voluntary qualification schemes by developing training curriculums (including learning objectives and outcomes, content, methods and material) based on the indentified needs
3) Boosting the demand for EE and RES qualified /skilled workers on national level
